Missing Dog

Hi--our dog got out around Belmont and Kenmore at about 11 AM today (June 27) and we can't find her. Her name is Sorcha and she's a large Belgian sheepdog, about 60 pounds. Please call me at 773-844-3583 if you find her. She has jet black fur and is friendly but skittish and may run away.

  • catlady for the love of cats, lets get along!

Oh no what a beautiful doggy, i will definitley keep an eye out for her. Prayers for a safe return!

  • We found her! Thanks, everyone.

Great and not too expensive dog trainer in Lakeview?

Our small 1.5 year old rescue dog is great and for the most part extremely well behaved. Occasionally, though, when we're outside -- she's always on leash -- she'll bark at runners going by when she's startled by them and frightened.
Does anyone know of a really good local (Lakeview) dog trainer iwho isn't wildly expensive, and would be willing to do a session or two to teach me how to handle/help her to change that behavior?
Thank you

  • Sam

Please do research, the bean bag and coin can could also scare and terrify dogs. In some cases make dogs aggressive especially if you are throwing objects at a dog. What works for some may not always work for others.

  • Laylasimicart artist selling off of Etsy

Cesar Milan has dvds and a show on Sat. ch 8 (the CW) called Dog Whisperer & books too.

Help save Sasha

Hello,
Currently trying to help a friend and her dog. Angie recently found out her dog needs a serious operation, but she happens to be struggling at the momment. Please please show support by sharing her campaign,
Thank you for the consideration!

  • chicagoon Short-term memory loss
  • DianeW just nosey

I hope your friend can gather up enough funds for Sasha.

I'm not sure if she's already explored this option but there's a credit card specifically for medical care (humans and animals can use it) and there's no interest for 6, 12 or 24 months depending on the amount financed.

Please tell her to look into applying for a Care Credit card.

  • How is the pup? Did he have the operation?

Hank went missing on Friday 5/19 around 2:30PM when he got lose from the dog walker. He was last seen around Roscoe St. and Lake Shore Drive. We heard there was an accident and a dog was hit and killed around the time he went missing but we have checked with 311, CACC, various vets shelters and Lost dogs IL and there is no record of him or of a dog involved in a car accident. We still have hope he is out there until we have some answers. Please spread the word and keep an eye out for him. If you see him, do not chase him as he is confused and scared. Sit on the ground and try to give him a treat or softly call his name. I just want my baby home safe and sound, or to have closure if someone witnessed the accident and can confirm it was him. ;(. Thank you in advance for your help!!!

  • Don't give up hope. Never accept what you don't know for sure. If the police confirms the dog, then maybe. But please keep on searching and have faith.

Who the heck is this dog walker that shouldn't be walking dogs in the first place? Please tell us because I have two dogs and use walkers often.

  • Christina~I am so sorry that you have no real closure, either way. You said you've tried every avenue possible, so I assume you checked with the policeman taking the accident report or have read the report? You said there were two witnesses, were you able to show them a pic...

Christina~I am so sorry that you have no real closure, either way. You said you've tried every avenue possible, so I assume you checked with the policeman taking the accident report or have read the report? You said there were two witnesses, were you able to show them a pic of your dog to get a more definite answer? What about the drivers of the cars? Could there possibly be some security videos in the area that may have caught your dog in that area around the time of the accident? A possible police car video? One last idea. Could you check w/Streets & San to see if they had to dispose of a deceased dog, on that day. I wonder if they have logs of what they have "picked up", for lack of a better word. I'm sorry if I have repeated what others may have said. Just trying to brainstorm to give you closure.

Landscaping recommendations

Can someone recommend a landscaping company to do some cleanup in my yard and trim 7-8 small bushes? Thanks in advance.

  • Hi we are currently using Kemora landscaping. Great work. Very professional and always on time. (773) 910-1800

  • We just had a great experience with Mariani: https://www.marianilandscape.com/. They got a quick quote and did a really nice job. They were scheduling about 3-4 weeks out when we booked them but perhaps their timing has changed now that the summer is underway?

  • Sue

We live in Roscoe Village and have a 15 year old son who cuts lawns. Not so much experience with the clean up and cutting but always something to learn and I would be more than happy to accompany him and guide him. He is available this weekend. Let me know if you have any interest.
