Mike Zalewski Letter

Mile Zalewski in conjunction with Mike Madigan want to ban online home rentals and sharing . He uses the word threat to safety. This is not true. All these people are trying to do is secure additional income to pay for Zalewski,s and Madigan,s punitive and oppressive Property Taxes. Temp (cheap) Room for Rent Needed ASAP- Awesome Husb & Wife (54 & 45yrs old)- 4/10 to 6/30

Unfortunately Our Apt Bldg has been sold and the new place we found isn't avail until July 1st. I'm a Full time student at 45yrs young working to complete my Degree in Business and cert in Logistics. Hubby is recently disabled but still loving life. We're the most easy to get along with couple you'll ever meet. When not out or at school, We rarely leave our room, spending the majority of our time studying, reading, or watching TV. We're quiet, and clean, don't drink (but not the preaching type- only because we dont like the taste and prefer a good cup of coffee).
A ROOM or ANY INFO/RESOURCES WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thank you.

  • Try the Skylark motel on Archer and Cicero. I believe they have kitchenette apartments for rent. They might give you a good deal Otherwise just keep posting your ad and there should be someone out there who has an extra room. Have some reference available also, should someone contacts you.

Illegal apartments

Is there anything that I can do about the bungalows on my block that have what I believe to be illegal basement and attic apartments? There is also a 2 flat that has an illegal basement and attic apartment. I thought that you had to have a front and back exit for each level for it to be legal. The 2 flat has about 20 people living in it with about 8 cars. There is never anywhere to park. I am concerned for their safety, but also concerned about all the cars.

    Nothing for almost 6 months after putting in 311 report. Messaged my Alderman. Inspector supposed to be out for 2nd time next week.
    The previous owners created the basement apartment, renting it and 2nd floor rooms out, then sitting on their patio laughing about how stupid Americans are to give...

    The previous owners created the basement apartment, renting it and 2nd floor rooms out, then sitting on their patio laughing about how stupid Americans are to give out free money to them in unemployment while they worked for cash and collected rent.
    Now the current owner decided to rent the basement out as an apartment and we are starting all over again.
    I work hard to be able to afford mortgage, homeowners insurance , property taxes, utilities, and upgrades to my property. It is not right that illegal apartments can bring down my property value.

  • Sadly the biggest problem is they need to let the inspector in, without that they cannot get in unless they have our side code violations. Then you can get them into Housing court, hopefully the inspector will ask for an interior inspection. Sadly this is part of the problem, have been fighting similar issues for nearly 2 years by me. And we have permit parking, I do a call 911 when the situation warrants. The problem is our laws need to be changed in manyour ways.
