Help finding medical records from Grant hospital at 550 w Webster

Hello
I am trying to find my medical records from grant hospital in 1992. It looks like grant became Lincoln park hospital at some point, until it closed permanently. Now it is condos, new development, etc.
Does anyone know where to find the medical records?

Thanks in advance for any info or advice!

  • Randi Doeker Environmental activist

Try the chief of staff for former Alderman Vi Daley - Charles Eastwood. He is at UIC now and you can find him on LinkedIn. I think the hospital closed when Vi was still alderman so her staff might know the details of where the records went. He is also a very smart fellow about these things.

Thank u Randi for your advice/info. These are great leads! :)

New building going up

Anyone know what they are building on the corner of Armitage and Dayton? I had heard awhile back it was going to be a Walgreens. I know construction had stopped for a long time but now they are back.

  • If it's a newer design that would be cool. Just hope it doesn't bring in any unwanted vagrants.

  • Definitely Walgreens, without alcohol and with the new design and grab-and-go type "produce". Not sure how extensive that part of their concept is, however.

Giving away our Pup

Sadly we have to give away our 7 month old dog that we adopted earlier this summer in order to get ready for the arrival of our baby. Her name is Mavie she's a lab/pit mix and she's pretty much up to date on most of her shots. She also has a micro chip in case she gets lost. We would love for her to go from one family into the arms of another instead of back to a shelter.

If you or anyone you know is interested feel free to email me Deborah91petez@gmail.com and I can send a few pics and more details.

  • Very nicely said, vjl290! I think people are so worried about the amount of animals that are abused and abandoned. No one is in their shoes. I have worked in rescue and I am glad to see that they are trying to the best possible for the puppy. We all need to be thankful they are good people who won't just "throw " the puppy away....they are truly trying to do the best for the pup.

  • I would be interested. how can I contact you?

Found purse

Last night while walking around downtown, I found a purse in the middle of the street. The name on the license is Jami Napleton. I know it's a long shot, but if anyone knows her and how to reach her apart from going to her house, please let me know!

  • Turn it in to the police. They have tremendous resources and handle these things every day.

  • I ended up just taking it to the house. Girl and purse are happily reunited!

Car Towed on Thanksgiving Day

My car was towed on Thanksgiving Day from Cannon Drive due to a Turkey Day 5K. I went on vacation that Tuesday so wasn't aware of the street closures and therefore wasn't here to move my car. I arrived back in Chicago Dec 2 and didn't even find out it was towed until Dec 5th when I got a letter from the City of Chicago (I rarely use my car). By this time I had already racked up quite a bit of storage fees. Did this happen to anyone else, and do I have a shot at contesting the tow? Help!

Tailor for hemming ski pants

Hi! I bought some ski pants and need them to be hemmed. Any suggestions besides the neighborhood dry cleaners?

  • Rugby Mom Long-time Lincoln Parker

Without a Trace on Walton--if it's something good because they are expensive but excellent.

  • Hands down, Green Spin on Clybourn, the tailor spent her career as a teacher at the School of the Art Institute. The price of any alteration is always agreed upon in advance and they will call you with detailed questions if anything comes up. Over 15 years, they only called me once for clarification. All their work has been outstanding.

#GivingTuesday kicks off tomorrow and it’s a perfect time to bring awareness to donations needed to sustain Green City Market. Why is Green City Market unique in its needs to raise funds?

“It’s expensive to run Green City Market,” says Sarah Stegner, co-president of the board. “We understand that a lot of customers think that shopping at Green City Market supports the market’s operations. It doesn’t.”

Green City Market’s greatest challenge is balancing the growing expenses of running an outdoor market while keeping its farm fees as low as possible. Green City Market’s booth fees are among the lowest in Chicago by $10-$20 per market. However these fees cover just 14% of its expenses to run an outdoor market, with its top expenditures being mulch to keep shoppers and vendors dry in inclement weather, park district fees, and the required outdoor restrooms.

Because of the difference in Green City Market’s costs to operate Chicago’s first year round farmers market and keeping its farmers’ fees intentionally low, Green City Market must rely on the support of generous individuals to help cover this difference.
Green City Market asks you to please consider making a tax deductible donation to its 501 (c) 3 charitable organization to help cover the gap between its costs to run the market and its intentionally low farmers’ fees. By giving to Green City Market, you are impacting the Chicago community by supporting the belief that good food is a right, not a privilege.

All donations greater than $50 receive a free tote bag!
