City Sticker Renewal Form

Has anyone else out there missed their new city sticker renewal form as should be sent out by the city according to the new personalized expiration schedule? I'm regretting not putting the renewal in my calendar. Just got a $200 ticket and the online renewal form is not cooperating. Ugh.

  • My sticker expires at the end of May. I received the snail mailed renewal notice last week sometime with the option to get a 1 or 2 year renewal. Re-newed on line just now. Took about 5 minutes. Now to wait and see when the sticker actually gets to me.

  • As a follow up, I did the on line renewal on Monday. The new sticker showed up on Thursday. It comes in an unmarked envelope, which I assume is for security reasons. It would be easy to think of it as junk mail, if it didn't say City Hall on it. Over all, a very easy process.

Garage door opener parts...ideas on where to buy?

Seems like our door opener gave up the ghost (the plastic/nylon sprocket snapped in half). I plan to replace it myself but need some parts. Any recommendations?

  • SixtyTwoPercentWater Neighborhood Blogger

Hey RaleighsMa...you rock. I called them (Roberts) and they agreed to sell me a part (and drop off at my house.) They were so cool about it, I turned it into a job for them (fix, service, etc.) Good people over at Roberts!

  • RaleighsMa Not fauxraged but may contain typos.

That's great! I'm glad you had as good an experience as I did and got it fixed. Have a great weekend!

Xippo? Are they back?

Revolutions sign came down, and Xippo's sign is back. I assumed it was because it didn't come down in the first place.

Found Keys?

Hi,

I lost my keys someplace between Leavitt/Cullom and the Metra station at Lawerance/Ravenswood. The keys have a Buick Car key and fob, a metal "SmartKey" that also has a USB stick, a bottle opener tool, and a small pill holder. The keys are on a flat Key Free ring.

Please let me know if anyone has found them.

Thanks,
Todd

We have three children, 8yrs, 6yrs and 4 months.
Any referrals would be great.

  • Alba Espinoza Nanny with 20 years of experience

Hi! I can provide you with great references! I am a grandmother of 4 very active grandchildren and when I am not attending to them, I am attending to my long time families who I worked for. I have plenty experience with multiples, and young children. The kids are all grown up now or in school so I am looking to form bonds with other families who I can help. Email:huizar719@gmail.com

Newbie wants to know the necessity of 4WD/AWD?

I have three kids and I am trying to buy a family car possibly a mini Van. I am wondering if I need to buy a 4WD/AWD mini Van or will I be ok with a Front wheel drive/FWD mini Van?How important is AWD/4WD in the alleys in the north center area? My garage opens to an alley. I welcome your feedback.

I was leaning toward a SUV but my wife thought that the ride in SUV was bumpy. We didn't look at any of the high end SUVs. So she decided that we should go with a mini Van so we are a proud owner of a Toyota Sienna. We love it now but come winter I will have to learn the tricks mentioned by His high honor and king of Dork! In addition during the winter months we plan not to use our garage which opens on the alley but instead park the Sienna on the street.

North park elementary school

In terms of the recent allegations that NPES colluded with the city to acquire property, the facts just do not ring true. If someone owns a property and keeps up with their payments, nothing is foreclosed upon. Furthermore, if someone is denied a loan by a bank, they can just go to another bank. Is that not correct? Also, since when do homeowners go to developers for loans? None of this hold together....
