New DD/Baskin Robbins, 103rd & King

Anyone have any hiring information about the Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins under construction at the NW corner of 103rd & King Drive. I have a 20-year-old college student who needs work, and having a job near both home and school (Olive Harvey) would be ideal!

I didn't see anything posted at the work site and the construction workers didn't know anything either. Called Ald. Beale's office and they also didn't have any info. I am hoping that the franchise owner plans to hire some neighborhood folk ...

  • Still haven't been able to find out any hiring information. The restaurant has passed City inspection and it looks like it's about to open soon. I'm guessing the opportunity for hiring has probably passed. However, I'm feeling some kind of way about never being able to find out any hiring...

Still haven't been able to find out any hiring information. The restaurant has passed City inspection and it looks like it's about to open soon. I'm guessing the opportunity for hiring has probably passed. However, I'm feeling some kind of way about never being able to find out any hiring information. There are no signs in the window and nothing on the DD website. Googling DD/BR along with the address and/or zip code didn't bring up anything nor did the Alderman's office didn't know anything. It seems like the owner/franchisee would be interested in hiring a few community residents ... I'm just saying.

  • I was looking for the contact information for that exact location as well. I even called Dunkin Donuts corporate office but no luck I'm 19 years old been looking for employment for almost a year. I've been on interviews and clearly no job offer yet. I just feel it in my gut that I will get this job because I enjoy baking pastries and talking with people.

Who knows a crooked Alderman?

As the city of Chicago’s legislative inspector general, Faisal Khan is paid to spend his days poking into alleged wrongdoing by aldermen and their staffs.

Link to Story: http://www.suntimes.com/news/brown/14400611-452/huge-salary-for-inspector.html

  • Mr Uncle Lived in Chicago since 1997

I've come to learn that Faisal Khan and his staff are truly committed to their jobs, but seem to have hands tied behind back by lack of funding and oversight from Board of Ethics cronies from Daley admin. Seriously OLIG needs true independence. Applause for the fine actors playing role of Board of Ethics. Doesn't help matters when the older female reporters in local media who likely knew FDR go bang out a negative story on Khan office. Rest assured all of us lemmings eventually catch on.

Who;s Running In the 6th Ward

Since there are conversations about the 17th and 21st lets delve into the 6th. Can a 3 time loser change voters minds? Can a former aldermandic campaign worker revive a campaign? Will a former Alderman's child run?

  • No schools closed in my ward either.

And if you knew your civics lessons, you would know that before the aldermen ever had a chance to vote on red and speeding cameras and closing schools, the governor and state legislature passed it first. But you probably do not even know who your state rep or senator is anyway....more low information people....sigh...

  • Anne Sullivan In and around Rogers Park since 1970

Wow. You don't know me at all do you? I have an appt with my state rep next week. I know all my elected representatives. In fact, I was at a press conference this week with YOUR alderman. That is, if you even live in the 6th ward...
