15 wounded in separate shootings since Saturday

Earlier in the evening, a 13-year-old and two older teens were shot about 7:30 p.m. in the 8100 block of South Woodlawn Avenue in the Avalon Park neighborhood, said Police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney.

In the most recent shooting, two 19-year-old men were shot in the 6300 block of South Seeley Avenue in the West Englewood neighborhood around 2:45 a.m., said Chicago News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

A 14-year-old boy and two 18-year-old men were injured in a shooting in the 1700 block of West Lake Avenue in the West Town neighborhood around 11:35 p.m., Greer said.

Around 10 p.m., a 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were wounded in a shooting in the 6800 block of South Morgan Street in the Englewood neighborhood, Greer said.

Around 9:15 p.m., a 23-year-old man was wounded in a shooting in the 8000 block of South Vernon Avenue in the Chatham neighborhood, Greer said.

Earlier, about 5:30 p.m. in the 7900 block of South Manistee Avenue, a 20-year-old woman was shot in the thigh and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she was in good condition, Sweeney said. The shooting was believed to be accidental, police said.

That shooting happened about 1:48 p.m. on the 2400 block of West 70th Street. The man was shot in his arm and was listed in good condition, she said. 

That shooting happened about 2:16 p.m. on the 6800 block of South Perry Avenue. Preliminary reports said a white SUV pulled up and a passenger fired shots at the woman's direction, striking her in the arm. The woman was taken in good condition to St. Bernard Hospital, she said.

About 10:30 a.m., the man was shot by someone on a bicycle on the 5900 block of South Ashland Avenue. The victim took off after he was struck and ran to the 5900 block of South Laflin Street, where someone contacted the police, according to Police News Affairs Officer Ana Pacheco.

Two dead, seven injured in city shootings

Early Friday morning, a 23-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were injured in a shooting in the 8000 block of South Ellis Avenue in the East Chatham neighborhood around 2 a.m.

The 16-year-old was walking in the 1300 block of North Cleveland Avenue when two attackers, who were riding on bicycles, shot him in the chest, said Police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines. The boy was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

The man was walking on the sidewalk with another man near the intersection of East 133rd Street and South Langley Avenue when two attackers came up and shot at them, Gaines said.

Three people were shot in the 7500 block of South Eggleston Avenue in the Gresham neighborhood at about 6 p.m., said Police News Affairs Officer Bari Lemmon.

The man was shot in the arm near East 95th Street and South Martin Luther King Drive, Gaines said.
