Please take 30 seconds to vote for a project RAGE is working on with Urban Prep Englewood Campus students Pride of Solidarity 2017 - Trick'd Out Open Spaces! We need your votes to make this idea a reality!

The Englewood neighborhood in Chicago needs to be beautified and Urban Prep Englewood Campus class of 2017 wants to take on that charge. The students has been working closely with RAGE and they want a communal space with shipping containers on a vacant lot by the school in Englewood.

Most vacant lots here are seen as an eyesore that is typically where garbage is dumped. There are more than 6 vacant lots next to the school and if we are able to convert one of these to be a garden and serve as safe space with the use of shipping containers this will beautify the area. We have over 2000 vacant lots that are depressing to our youth, elders and the community at large.

This youth led effort from the class of 2017 "Solidarity Pride" wants to bring something to Englewood that has never been done here before. This new & innovative design will be open to the public & serve as a safe space with activities for all ages. There are not enough activities but there is a vast majority of vacant land and we want to repurpose this to spark fun, conversation and hope. We will use the funds to clean and inspect the soil of the vacant lot and to repurpose the donated shipping containers from nearby railway companies in the area. We will need cleaning supplies and designers to help us beautify the lot and tricked out the shipping container in order for it to be a hub for the youth and adults.

Vino and Vinyasa

Tired of this supposed "spring" weather? Then heat up both your palette and your body. You don't have to be a yogi or a wine enthusiast to try something new for free. If however, you do enjoy twisting your body into a pretzel and after gently massaging your organs washing it down with wine then this event is perfect for you. Join Yoga Now studio for a night of Vino and Vinyasa. The 60 minute vinyasa yoga class will be led by an instuctor from Yoga Now at 7:30-8:30 p.m. Class will be followed by vino provided by Lululemon Rush & Walton and light refreshments from Pretzel Crisps. Lululemon is located on 930 N. Rush Street.
