New health care services coming to Englewood

St. Bernard Hospital will break ground on its new Ambulatory Care Center on Wednesday, October 29 at 10 a.m., at the corner of 63rd Street and Stewart Avenue in Chicago. 1 killed, 10 shot in overnight violence

The two were in the 1400 block of West 72nd Street when someone inside a maroon minivan opened fire, Sedevic said.

The man told police he was shot in the 7900 block of South Ashland Avenue in the Gresham neighborhood. He was treated and later released from the hospital, Pacheco said.

About 6 p.m., a 44-year-old man was stabbed in the chest in the 300 block of East 48th Street, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Bari Lemmon.

The shooting happened in the 3500 block of West Chicago Avenue, Lemmon said.

About 7:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of West 72nd Street, a 19-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said. An 18-year-old shot in the wrist was taken to the same hospital, where his condition had stabilized.

About 6:40 p.m., someone in a passing white van opened fire on three teens in the 800 block of North St. Louis, police said.

At 8:35 a.m., a 17-year-old boy was shot in the right shoulder about two blocks away in the 3300 block of West Chicago, police said. His condition had stabilized at Mount Sinai Hospital.

The shooting happened at 9:20 a.m. in the 6400 block of South King Drive. The 22-year-old man who was shot is a documented gang member, police said. He remains in critical condition at Christ Medical Center.
