Homeless Center on Southside of Chicago

Hello everyone. My name is DeLancy. I would like to know everyone thoughts on having a Homeless Center on Southside of Chicago? I would like the community input on this issue.

Because it is better to invest the limited resources available in our youth, instead of people that have frittered their lives away. I agree with Ms. Yolanda.

And what a prick to pick on a typo mr. grammar-check....

  • No, I was (and am) being quite sincere in erring on the side of caution to make sure that I was understanding Yolando O's post. Hence my heartfelt apology in advance, if I got it wrong.

Sometimes you're sure you're right about something and it turns out not to be the case. I was fairly certain it was just a typo (and we all make 'em!!) but just in case I was wrong (which has happened on occasion), I wanted to avoid offending her.
I hope that she realizes that, if not in my last post, then by what I have added here.

More dirty politics in the 6th Ward

According to Glen Fulton, president of the nonprofit Greater Englewood Community Development Corporation, Brian Sleet, chief of staff to Ald. Roderick Sawyer (6th), called him today and told him he needs to "be careful."

Fulton said Sleet was referring to him supporting 6th Ward aldermanic candidate Richard Wooten over Sawyer and indicated that if Sawyer is re-elected Fulton's organization should not expect any support from Sawyer.

AN OPEN LETTER TO MAYOR RAHM EMANUEL FROM THE ENGLEWOOD RAILWAY COALITION

An open letter to Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel from the Englewood Railway Coalition regarding Norfolk Southern Corp.’s (NSC) attempted hostile takeover of Black-owned homes in Englewood. NSC, a $34.5 billion Virginia-based corporation, is trying to expand a massive freight yard in our neighborhood. The project, which amounts to a land grab of some 84 acres, would destroy the homes, history and traditions of this long-established African-American community.

Hi Jeff, it is very evident from this assumption that you are truly out of touch with the happenings in Englewood and is definitely out of touch with the work of RAGE. I guess if you are only watching from the outside or staring at a PC you would make a comment like that. Thanks for your comment on this post, as it is as bias as the other comments you've shared on everyblock. Have a good weekend!

Hmmmm...if I am staring at a PC, what does that say about you hanging around to respond to every post ?

WATCH: R.A.G.E.'s Aldermanic Candidate Forum

Get ready to vote this February 24th with CAN TV's coverage of an aldermanic candidate forum hosted by the Resident Association of Greater Englewood (R.A.G.E.): http://ow.ly/Je5B4

  • Yes. Watch and see why both major papers repudiated the candidacy of the morally bankrupt David Moore, a non resident of the ward with a history of mental illness and domestic violence. I hope the cameras captured him assaulting an audience member that was taking his picture and snatching the camera from their hand...or his response to repeated audience questions about the domestic battery charges in his record.

    It should be interesting.
