Hello, Neighbours

I am an out of town investor and I am wondering what the neighbourhoods along 61st street are like? Would this be considered a war zone?

  • Tina Hammond Childcare provider in the Englewood community

Yes Mark I am a ride or die for my community and I have been on the news for the positive side,my husbands flower garden we won a contest. There is Beauty that the media does not show.My husband has cleaned the block for the 2yrs we have been here.We know that we are the difference in our community.Treat the homes u purchase as your own and u never know what change u will make in that community.

  • Mark Conroy Real Estate Investor

    Hi Tina,

thanks for the solid advice. You are right, all that has to be done to improve a neighbourhood is for everyone to pull together and do little things like you are doing, gardening, cleaning up and the community gets bstter as a whole.

and Bronzeville's Buckthorn Park led by Ephraim Lee xhle@hotmail.com

On a related note; if anyone has any old toys their pup has lost interest in, consider giving them a second life by donating them to one of the dog parks... also any grocery bags for the bag dispensers would also be greatly appreciated.

As for all these claims that there are not enough recreational opportunities for our youth. I'd say take a closer look. There are more than enough basketball and tennis courts, baseball diamonds and soccer/football fields all over the southside. Problem is... not enough youth are putting them to good use and as a result most of these spaces rarely, if ever, get put to use for their intended purposes.
