Water Metersave Program

I had the new water meter installed in September of 2014. When my payment credit ran out (rather quickly), I got a pretty large bill. Our usage averages about 50 gallons a day. Our bill figures to 169 gallons a day. Found out the water dept. automated phone system has a different meter number than ours. Was wondering if anyone might know a shortcut to the maze I am about to enter in order to correct this and adjust 6 months of billing.
Thanks

  • me

Dan, this is good to know since my credit also ran out rather quickly ...in only 2 billings! I'll have to check my meter numbers. Never thought of that. There are only 3 people in this house and 2 of those work all day so where is all the water being used? All I can suggest is to contact the media if you don't get very far in your efforts. Good luck to you and let us know how it turns out.

  • Kath Kath

I know that when they came and installed ours they showed me how to read the meter. There is something on the meter that can tell you if water is running or not. If it shows water is running (which also means the meter is running) when there is nothing on in the house then there is a leak somewhere. You may want to look at your actual meter and see if it's running all the time for a leak somewhere. Otherwise they overcharged you.

I received a letter from my precinct captain and in the letter it states a list of things the neighborhood has received. One of these things listed .... and a new selective enrollment High School will be coming to the southwest side of Chicago....

I live in Clearing and was wondering what high school because he didn't elaborate and where? I heard about the UNO School that was supposed to be in my neighborhood and I was not happy about that, then that was not happening due to the laws they broke. Now this.

Does anyone know about this new school and what kind of school? Where it will be I hope not that part of 65th street Burbank getting annexed into Chicago for this school.

My precinct Captain denied knowing anything about UNO so I don't think I will get a straight answer.

Is this an UNO School? A Charter? Where is it going to be located?

  • Yes that was my only choice I could make. The others didn't have a choice.

  • Emanuel does nothing for the south side of Chicago. Maybe Garcia will do more

  • I will say nothing more

  • Sorry I gotta say one more thing. I just met ABC_123 and believe me SHE is not Paulino

  • Ohh...I have something to say:

Excerpt from Editorial in Chicago Tribune, 2/25/15, p.18

"Many of the incumbents who benefitted from the mayoral-linked political action committee Chicago Forward were successful. The committee dumped last-minute money and resources into more than a dozen races, including that of Ald. Michael Zalewski...; Zalewski cruised to victory along with Emmanuel allies...".

Fioretti did you think you'd win?

Fioretti, Don't you know when to drop out. Rahm 46% of vote so far. Fioretti 7%. 46 plus 7 equals 53% could have been to Rahm. Now more months to waste on campaign adds. Rahm your English negative campaign on Chuy let Non English speaking people see Chuys face all over the place and didn't have a clue if it was good or bad and Chuy learn how to say the word afford. Both F's should be heard.

  • @Merc- Fioretti's voters despise Emanuel. They would vote for Garcia, Wilson, or Walls before they'd cast a ballot for Emanuel.

If you think the majority of Chuy's voters don't speak English you are as clueless as your buddy Emanuel.

What this has turned out to be for the past few months is nothing but a forum for folks to down each and every person running for alderman...this forum has turned into a joke thanks to folks making up fake accounts, accusing candidates of everything under the sun, etc.

Thanks to all the honest people on here who try to bring information about the neighborhood to all of us so we can be informed citizens looking out for the best interest of our neighborhood. ..and to the rest...stop littering our forum with garbage, filth and ridiculousness about this upcoming election...this last go round that was posted half of the comments were deleted by everyblock...it just goes to show there is not an intelligent conversation going on when half of what was said can't be seen...stop it already! Take your garbage elsewhere!

Before anyone even thinks of posting some ridiculous hurtful comments let me say this..I'm not endorsing anyone for alderman..my account is real..and I have lived here for over 25 years...I'm a TRUE neighbor to Garfield ridge..this is my home....

  • Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels all this has gotten out of hand....the bad thing is these folks r getting kicked off every block and jump on again under a different name/avatar...

We on EVERYBLOCK make it what it is. If you don't want to talk negative then don't. If you have positive news or comments then write them. You're complaining like the ones your complaining about. Do you have something positive to add to Everyblock? I do and have. We can talk about the best can opener or the best grocery store or how a mean neighbor said hi. Figure out something good to talk about and skip the complaining, just don't read what you don't want to read. How does that sound. That's what I recommend. This is a free place to express yourself whether good or bad it's still a good place to discuss incognito. Don't complain to take it away, please.
