Keeping a Close Eye on CPD's Glenn Evans

I'm not going to bore anyone with the details but I have (as well as many others in the 3rd District) witnessed first hand the abuses of power Commander Evans has delivered over his brief reign in Woodlawn. Now with a new commander at the helm, I'm relieved but only in part. Now with a new commander at the helm, I'm relieved but only in part. With all the lawsuits and complaints against him, i'm afraid the CPD is going back to their old playbook, tossing him from district to district like a hot potato. If anyone knows his current tour-of-duty please let me know. I want to insure that his past follows him and catches up with him sooner then later.. As of yet, to the best of my research, he has been named a defendant in six different lawsuits over the course of his career.

Hug a Thug Day in Hoodlawn

I grew up with a firm hand. There were clear consequences for bad behavior. The tough love built a strong moral compass and character. Yet since moving to Woodlawn, i've been told repeatedly that i have it all wrong. Apparently compassion and tolerance for those who destroy everything they touch is the one and only route to progress. So next time you see a thug being a thug give them a hug and tell them that they're loved. ;D

and Bronzeville's Buckthorn Park led by Ephraim Lee xhle@hotmail.com

On a related note; if anyone has any old toys their pup has lost interest in, consider giving them a second life by donating them to one of the dog parks... also any grocery bags for the bag dispensers would also be greatly appreciated.

  • Carnegie Elementary School reviewed by a parent

My child attended the gifted kindergarten, and I was very impressed with what she was learning. The teachers and staff are friendly and the children are well behaved. Unfortunately we had to leave the program, because my child was having too much separation anxiety. Her teacher was very understanding and really wanted to work with us. But we decided it was best to hold our child back a year.
