    visas

The main visas are divided into short (90 days in transit and visits) and long-term stay (student housing and the combined work and residence visa). EU residents do not need a visa, and are also not residents of the U.S., Canada, Australia or New Zealand who intend to spend a maximum of 90 days in the country on vacation (so there is no work or study in the field).

The residents have signed the Schengen Agreement, (which is the EU minus the UK and Ireland, but also Norway and Iceland) do not even need a passport upon arrival, and can swan through the national ID card.

EU citizens and on the other hand, the European Economic Agreement (Norway and Iceland) have a residence visa. But if you plan to stay in Spain for longer, you need a foreign personal identification number (Número de Identidad de Extranjero or NIE) and perhaps also the residence card (Tarjeta de Residencia).

You can use through the Oficina de extranjeros / Oficina d'Estrangers. When you have settled in you should head over to the local Town Hall (Ajuntamento), and add your name Padro Municipal d'Habitants residency registry that gives access to other benefits.
