Hope this helps and hope she is home safe soon.

Also talk to the mail carrier and the people who walk around Mann park or around grissom school with their dogs. Very helpful to post a picture on Facebook- lots of exposure. Hoping for a happy ending to this story.

More Train Traffic to Tie Up Hegewisch

As it is now, traffic is tied up at Burnham/Avenue at South Shore tracks many times a day. New tracks going in just north of Senior Suites will further impede getting into and out of Hegewisch. 130th and Torrence still under construction. Fire and ambulances must deal with delays not to mention the rest of us. New tracks are a big mistake. Frustration abounds just getting here and getting out. HELP!

“Is the Increase in Trains Affecting You?”

    Tuesday, June 24, 2014

    6:30 PM – 8:00 PM

    • Recent uptick in trains, over 100 rail cars long
    • Trains stopping and blocking traffic
    • New rails and rail beds being constructed
    • Reactivating old train routes
    • Unnerving, loud horn blowing at all hours
    • Safety issues: nearby churches and schools; lack of crossing gates

COME TO GET ANSWERS TO SOME OF THESE QUESTIONS:

Why is there such an increase in the trains pulling through?
What materials and what kind of freight are being transported close to our homes? Is it dangerous?
How will safety concerns be addressed?
Will all this affect our quality of life and our property values?

Drivers Beware of 131st Street between O and Greenbay

The street that runs between 131st and Avenue O and 131st and Greenbay is so pockmarked and cratered it is ruining our cars as we drive thru to our garages and the neighbors as they move about. City services have been called to no avail. Truly travel at your own risk!
