Im sure others have noticed the increase in freight train traffic along the old train track that runs through the neighborhood. They have been blocking the crossings at 133rd, 134thand 135th if your travelling east and west from ave o. Well this train will soon be blocking ave o near the retirement home, since the railroad plans to re activate the track that was previously removed. The aldermans office is aware of this plan. I strongly suggest this aldermans office be notified of your opinion as a resident who's quality of life and property values will be affected. These trains will likely be filled with coke from the filthy coke plant that left that eye sore on Torrence and was allowed to relocate off of ave o. Community Meeting allegedly planned with no set date. It sounds as though this is happening, like it or not. There are restrictions that can be imposed on the railroad by the city. This is our neighborhood and we all have a voice! use it and let the alderman know that our interests are more important than that of a railroad that could care less about your quality of life.
