In addition, a 31-year-old man died of head trauma after an assault on a Southwest Side street.

DePaul University students are digging into the past of a Chicago community that was the brainchild of rail car magnet George Pullman.

Shopping at the arcade began to decline at the turn of that century as rail lines and new neighborhoods further connected the Pullman community to Chicago. By the 1920s, the arcade had become obsolete and was demolished.

The FBI says two men brought the kidnapped victim at gunpoint to a home in the Roseland neighborhood on 119th Street, bound him with duct tape and handcuffed him to a chair. They beat him, shot him in the leg and left a pit bull to keep him in place.
