Roseland Week begins with more gun violence in Chicago
A rash of shootings over the weekend claimed at least four people, including a 38-year-old woman at a Ukrainian Village bar, a 26-year-old man on a Roseland street, an 18-year-old in a drive-by shooting on the South Side and another 18-year-old in south suburban Chicago Heights. In addition, a 31-year-old man died of head trauma after an assault on a Southwest Side street.

Roseland FBI nabs 6 in alleged bank robbery, kidnapping
The FBI says two men brought the kidnapped victim at gunpoint to a home in the Roseland neighborhood on 119th Street, bound him with duct tape and handcuffed him to a chair. They beat him, shot him in the leg and left a pit bull to keep him in place.

Roseland Shootings Increase After CeaseFire’s Budget Cut
The South Side’s Roseland community, where CeaseFire began operating in October 2006, has seen the biggest increase in the number of shootings, from 15 between September 2006 and March 2007 to 22 during the same period one year later.

Roseland An unusual anniversary in their son's life
