About street closures
Summary
Don't get caught flat-footed when your street is closed because of a block party, athletic event, festival, parade or road work. In this section of EveryBlock, we publish all street closures in the city, so you can find out when they're happening near you.
The information from the Chicago Department of Transportation includes the location of the closure, the stop and start dates, the closure's type (athletic event, festival, etc.) when the closure was posted on the city's Web site and details about the closure.
Note that "street full closure" — one of the more common closure types — usually indicates road or construction work on the street.
