Work to eliminate slow zones on the O'Hare branch of the Blue Line will suspend rail service between the Jefferson Park and Cumberland stations over the weekend, between 9 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. Monday. Shuttle buses will substitute for rail service between the Jefferson Park, Harlem and Cumberland stations. Riders are advised to allow for extra travel time. The shutdown, which also took place last weekend, allows the CTA to replace deteriorated rail ties, tie plates and spikes.
