Villa Park woman charged in the slaying of her roommate last year was returned to the DuPage County Jail on Monday after allegedly leaving her apartment last month, a violation of her $1 million bail. Nicole Abusharif is accused of leaving her apartment April 25 and entering a family member's home next door in the 5700 block of Circle Avenue in Oak Lawn.

Work to eliminate slow zones on the O'Hare branch of the Blue Line will suspend rail service between the Jefferson Park and Cumberland stations over the weekend, between 9 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. Monday. Shuttle buses will substitute for rail service between the Jefferson Park, Harlem and Cumberland stations. Riders are advised to allow for extra travel time. The shutdown, which also took place last weekend, allows the CTA to replace deteriorated rail ties, tie plates and spikes.

Edison Gifted parents also were miffed. They had fought relocating Edison’s 300 kids into Albany Park Middle, saying Edison’s youngest students would be intimidated by all the teens in the building and needed their own school. CPS officials said Edison kids would have a separate, sectioned-off area of the building instead.
