    A burglar broke into an apartment on the 5600 block of North Washtenaw sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. May 5. Police believe the burglar placed duct tape over a rear storm door to muffle the sound of breaking glass. The burglar swiped $700 worth of jewelry and a TV valued at $200. Neighbors told police that a homeless man with a beard has been hanging around the back of the building.

    A man in his mid-30s robbed a dry cleaner's on the 5600 block of North Lincoln around 12:40 p.m. April 30. The store owner told police the man came in to pick up his "wife's shirt" but did not have a receipt. After taking down the man's first name and telephone number, the man followed the store owner as she went to go look for the shirt. She got scared when she noticed the man holding a knife. The victim ran to a side door and screamed for help. The man ran out of the store heading southbound on Lincoln.

    A man described in his early 20s was spotted loading power tools into a Ford SUV with blue headlights from a garage on the 5800 block of North Campbell around 1 a.m. April 16. A witness observed the man standing by the side door of a garage and driving off in the SUV from the rear of the garage. Both the witness and the homeowner found the side service door open and numerous power tools stolen.

    Both men were indicted in January on charges that they strong-armed immigrant voters in the 50th Ward to vote in the general municipal and runoff aldermanic elections by absentee ballot.
