California Ave., police said.Jackson was pronounced dead at 9:04 p.m. Monday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, said the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. An autopsy determined Jackson died of blunt head trauma from an assault, cranio-cerebral injuries and sepsis. The death was ruled a homicide.Police said Jackson was the victim of a May 30 aggravated battery in the 3500 block of South Giles Avenue.

To reduce lines and travel times, customers are encouraged to buy farecards in advance with enough value, or add enough value to their existing farecards, for their return trip, the CTA said.A mobile CTA sales facility will be set up on Jackson just east of Michigan to allow customers to purchase farecards. The vending machines accept credit cards and cash, and will offer one-, two-, three- and seven-day passes. Customers can also purchase or add value to their transit cards at the vending machines, the CTA said.Longer trains will operate from Downtown daily on the Blue, Brown, Green, Orange, Pink and Red lines will operate until about 10:30 p.m. On the Purple Line, longer trains will run until midnight from Howard to Linden daily. On the Yellow Line, trains will operate later than usual on weekdays, with the last train leaving the Howard station at 2 a.m. Trains will operate on Saturday and Sunday from 6:10 a.m. to 11:15 p.m. at 15-minute intervals, the CTA said.On July 3, the CTA will provide longer trains with more frequent stops on the Blue, Pink, Red, Green, Brown, Orange, Yellow and Purple lines. Bicycles will not be allowed on trains on July 3.
