Jovon Lee and a second man got into a verbal dispute with another group when shots were fired about 11:20 p.m. Friday in the 5900 block of South Maplewood Avenue. The gunman fled with two other men in a small, dark car, police said.

2 men shot -- 1 fatally -- on Southwest Side
Lee of the 3400 block of West Berteau Avenue was shot in the face and pronounced dead at 2:40 a.m. Saturday, the Cook County medical examiner's office said. The other man was treated for minor injuries and released, police said.
