CHICAGO (WLS) -- A woman seriously beaten by a homeless couple is now in physical therapy.
Jennifer Hall was celebrating her 36th birthday last week at the Wabash Tap. After a few drinks, she and her boyfriend went to a Jewel store across the street. A homeless man and woman asked Hall and her boyfriend, Joe Hoffman, for a cigarette. Police say Hall or Hoffman told the couple to "get a job."
The homeless couple attacked Hall, resulting in a broken jaw and a brain injury.
Derrick King, 46, and Joyce Burgess, 38, are charged with aggravated battery and robbery.
