Police: Man Fatally Shoots Ex-girlfriend's New Boyfriend

A man was killed and his girlfriend injured during an early Friday domestic disturbance with the woman’s ex-boyfriend at a West Side apartment, police said.

The ex-boyfriend was also hospitalized with injuries apparently suffered during the incident, police said.

Robert White, 22, of 4834 W. Arthington St., was shot at 1816 W. Fairfield Ave. and pronounced dead at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County at 2:23 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. An autopsy is tentatively scheduled for later Friday.

White was with his new 41-year-old girlfriend when her ex-boyfriend entered and shot him about 1:10 a.m., police said.

The girlfriend and ex-boyfriend were both taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition with stab wounds, police said. It was not immediately known who did the stabbing.

Police recovered a handgun and a knife on the scene.

Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
