Man shot dead, girlfriend stabbed

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was shot to death and his pregnant girlfriend stabbed and severely injured in their West Side apartment.

Police say the woman's ex-boyfriend is in custody. They say he broke into the apartment in the 1800 block of South Fairfield early Friday.

Robert White,22, died of gunshot wounds to the head. Sulee Gonzalez, 28, was stabbed multiple times.

Relatives of the victims gathered outside the apartment building Friday afternoon. Court records show Gonzalez had an order of protection against her ex-boyfriend but it had expired.

No charges have been filed against the suspect. Police say he was stabbed during the attack.
