West Side Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, 2 Hurt
CHICAGO (STNG) ―
Police are seeking three men who shot three other men -- one fatally -- while they played a game of chance on the West Side late Sunday.
The three were shot about midnight near the intersection of St. Louis Avenue and Lexington Street, according to Harrison District police.
Three male attackers approached the men, who were playing a game of chance, fired gunshots and fled, according to police News Affairs Officer David Banks.
An 18-year-old man who suffered multiple gunshot wounds was dead on the scene, a 40-year-old man was in good condition at Mount Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound to his left arm, and a 23-year-old man was also in good condition at Mount Sinai with a gunshot wound to his left arm, according to Banks.
Jarrell Johnson, 18, of 3331 W. Fulton Blvd., suffered multiple gunshot wounds at 720 S. St. Louis Ave. and was pronounced dead at 2 a.m. on the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Police remained on the scene of the shooting, which occurred not far from the Harrison District police station at 3151 W. Harrison St., at 2:30 a.m.
Harrison Area detectives are probing the attack but there was no one was in custody as of 5:30 a.m.
