One thing about the 600 block of W. Diversey hasn't changed in 64 years and isn't likely to anytime soon. Hanig's Slipper Box, a shoe store on the corner of Clark and Diversey, opened in 1944. Peter Hanig started working at the store when he was 11, and has operated it for more than 20 years. One of Hanig's employees has been with the store for 46 years-he guessed.
