A South Side woman went on trial Monday for the 2005 murder of her 3-year-old brother. Yesenia Diaz was 17 when she allegedly suffocated her brother Ricardo, stuffed his body into a white garbage bag and put it into a garbage can in a Little Village alley. Several witnesses testified Monday, including a scavenger who found Ricardo's body and witnesses who saw Diaz in the hours after the killing, when she told conflicting stories about what had happened.
