An 8-year-old boy was wounded Monday night in Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood when gunmen fired shots into a van he was sitting in with his mother and sped off, officials said. The boy, who was hit at about 9:45 p.m. in the 1100 block of North Spaulding Avenue, was taken to Norwegian American Hospital in serious but stable condition and then transferred to Stroger Hospital, according to police and hospital officials.
