News article details

Garcia Henry, 25, and Luis Ortiz, 29, were murdered at 12:10 a.m., May 6, on the 3300 block of W. Potomac, in what police believe was a gang-related shooting. At the time of the report, police had not made any arrests in the double-homicide. According to two witnesses, who were in the same car as Henry and Ortiz in the moments before the shooting, they were parking their car when a 4-door sedan pulled up beside them, its lights turned off. A man got out of the sedan, pulled out a handgun and fired several shots at Ortiz and Henry, who were in the back seat of their car, the report says. Both witnesses already had fled the car when the shots were fired, the report says. Ortiz, who lived on the block where the shooting occurred, was pronounced dead as soon as police arrived on the scene of the crime, police reports say. Henry, of the 1300 block of N. Homan, was rushed to an emergency room and pronounced dead just before 2 a.m. Police believe both men were members of the Latin Kings street gang. Police had little information about the identity of the suspect at the time the report was filed. Read the full article at the original source (Chicago Journal)…
