An unknown offender threatened to blow up Wrigley Field in an anonymous phone call at 3:30 p.m. on May 1, police reports say. According to the report, a man called a Pizzeria Uno in the afternoon, and told the host that "there will be a bomb going off today at Wrigley Field." The host told police that the man speaking on the other line sounded distant, as if he was holding the receiver away from his face. Police were unable to determine where the call was made from, as the Pizzeria Uno phone did not have caller ID. Police and ballpark officials heightened security in deference to the threat.
