A 52-year-old woman was robbed after cashing a check at a currency exchange on the 7000 block of North Clark around 3 p.m. May 1. The victim told police that a man in his early 30s approached her from behind and placed an object in her back. He demanded her money. When the victim said she didn't have any money, the man went through her pockets and removed $550. The man turned away and left in an unknown direction. The victim did not see a weapon.
