North Chicago police: Unarmed man was trying to flee in car when shot by cops
Gwinn, of the 1700 block of McAree Road in Waukegan, was in a gray Pontiac sedan driving in the 1500 block of Jackson Street about 2 p.m. when several members of the North Chicago tactical narcotic team pulled the car over, according to a written statement by police.

Roof collapses on Near South Side
Crews on the scene of a roof collapse on the Near South Side are investigating what caused a pile of bricks to fall onto a neighboring roof partially caving it in Wednesday night. As of 8 p.m., fire crews were on the scene of a roof collapse in the 2500 block of South State Street, Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford said.

Cops solve 1981 murder of pizza delivery driver
On June 12, 1981, Chicago Police discovered 29-year-old man fatally shot in the alley behind the pizzeria where he worked as a delivery driver in the 1900 block of West Chicago Avenue, the release said. Police Wednesday night would not disclose the name of the victim.
