CeaseFire -- the high-profile anti-violence program that was hit with a major cut last year in its state funding -- is successful at stopping shootings in Chicago, a Northwestern University study has found.The study focused on shootings in seven areas of Chicago where CeaseFire has operated -- Logan Square, Rogers Park, the Southwest Side, West Garfield Park, West Humboldt Park, Englewood and Auburn-Gresham.
