IDA B. WELLS : CPS student critical after shooting
A 15-year-old Chicago Public Schools student was in critical condition after being shot in an Ida B. Wells Extension public housing building Friday afternoon. The boy was shot on the fifth floor of 511 E. Browning, but was able to leave the building, said Derek Hill, a Chicago Housing Authority spokesman. The teen, a student at Wendell Phillips High School, was shot in the shoulder and found lying in the grass outside, police said. Bernard Clark told ABC7 the boy, in past years, played Little League baseball for him. "We won a couple of city championships with him playing on our team," Clark said. "I hope he's all right."

IDA B. WELLS : CPS student critical after shooting
Two people were killed and another was badly injured when a car reportedly slammed into a tow truck on the Dan Ryan Expy. Friday afternoon. The accident just before 3:30 p.m. in the northbound express lanes at 55th Street killed Antonio Campbell, 33, and Deborah Campbell, 52, both of the 10100 block of South Hoxie, authorities said. Antonio Campbell was driving the car, police said. A third person was in critical condition at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, authorities said.

Far South Side crash leaves one dead, 2 injured
Christopher Smith, 19, of the 10200 block of South Sangamon St. was taken to Roseland Community hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:30 a.m., according to a spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. The two others were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, Langford said.

Man killed in fight with girlfriend's father
McKinley was the aggressor in a domestic battery incident with his girlfriend in a second-floor apartment in the 4000 block of West Harrison Street about 1 a.m. The woman’s father attempted to stop the incident, a fight ensued and McKinley was injured, police said.
