The shelter is in dire need of funds to keep their doors open.

Please help out if you can in any way.

1) DONATE - Items can still be dropped off at the shelter. Best time for drop off is Saturday from 6 am to 9 am, but we will absolutely accept items all week.

2) VOLUNTEER - Email Lisa@chicagocaninerescue.com to sign up for a shift this Saturday.
SHIFT 1: 6 am to 10 am
SHIFT 2: 10 am to 2 pm
SHIFT 3: 2 pm to 5 pm (or until close)

3) SHOP - We really do have lots of great stuff, so please come on by to pick up some great DVDs, books, furniture, kids' toys and clothes, designer clothers, jewelry, housewares, electronics, etc... - we have something for you! Get a great deal and help the pups at the shelter at the same time!

Any questions? Feel free to contact me at lisa@chicagocaninerescue.com Thank you! Hope to see you on Saturday!

5272 N. Elston is a dog rescue biz?

How come we don't know a biz exists there rescuing canines?

    Have a website?

  • @kenji, yes I do believe they have a website. And Yelp reviews. Very clean and good to the dogs. Looking to adopt a dog from them when my wife makes me retire.

why so coy with the location's details?

    post the details, y'all.

I didn't realize they moved so close (they used to be Belmont / Clybourn area). A good friend of mine is very involved with CCR. They are top notch.

CCR? I see a bad dog on the rise.

  • Stop by and see them this weekend. I plan to be there. They need support.

Kenji, you're not paying attention. How many times have they been on EB? You've been sniffing in the wrong direction. LOL Everyone who's heard of CCR (not the band, Kenji) thank me so He can see they've been mentioned on here many times.. LOL If I didn't have to work so many crazy hours I would help. I'll try to figure a different way to help the puppies/dogs. And their website is Chicagocaninerescue.com It's right by Forest Glen & Elston. Are you gonna help with something?

Don't blame Kenji for my lame Creedence joke.

Looks like we're in for nasty weather. Sorry, I couldn't resist!!

  • kenji Find us here --> http://reddit.com/r/greatNWside

@Kathy, I think the OP forgot to put their address in the post. I tend to gloss over the pet related stuff here on EB, but mentioned this thread to the wife and she asked where the place was. I said didn't know because there's only an email contact in the post.

  • Kenji
Dude, a simple internet search would have answered a lot of your questions :)
The address is right above "Canine Rescue Garage Sale" That is where it will be seen when you post an event rather than discussion.
    Luci
It's just supposed to be hot Saturday isn't it? It has already been cancelled once because of rain last weekend.

Joyce, I don't about the weather for Saturday---I was referring to the CCR song "Bad Moon Arising." LOL

  • Oh - that was before my time.
No - actually, went right over my head.

  • Kathy in 60634 7 yr. resident

@Kenji, just having a little fun with ya and I got a kick out of the ccr remarks. It truly looks like we will have a bad moon rising this Sunday with the eclipse, But I wanna know who'll stop the rain?
Enough, let's help the dogs. I'll try to get to garage sale in afternoon.

  • Do you mind posting the address of the event? Thanks!

  • The shelter is at 5272 N. Elston. They are having the sale on Saturday. In addition to funds, they have a list of needs on their website including paper towels, ziploc bags, white rice, garbage bags, and of course volunteers! You can even volunteer to just walk one of their dogs. How great is that!

They are a great organization - please do show your support!

@Jake: most smart folks on EB blame Kenji for just about everything.
