Qeuntin Payton, 28, and Chaz Johnson, 22, died March 12 after an exchange of gunfire between a dark-colored SUV and someone on a party bus; after the bus stopped at the Dunkin Donuts in the 6300 block of North Broadway in Edgewater. Three people were shot, according to police.

The 18-year-old man was walking in the 2600 block of North Sheffield about 11:45 p.m. when two males, one of whom was armed, walked up and demanded his belongings, police said. The man said the would-be robbers opened fire when he tried to run away.
Police said the man told officers “he was intoxicated and unsure of the exact location of the incident.” DePaul’s Public Safety office was notified of the shooting about 5 a.m. and reported it happened in the 1100 block of West Lill Avenue.

He drove off in the Buick, and a third carjacking attempt in the 1100 block of South Clark Street was unsuccessful after the driver disabled the keys, police said.
A few minutes later, King demanded a white BMW from another victim at Roosevelt and Clark, police said. He fired shots before taking off in the BMW.
