Independence Park Advisory Council is hosting a celebration of their new playground today, May 6, from noon to 3 PM, at Independence Park, 3945 N. Springfield.

A public meeting to gather community input on the final design will be on Monday, May 15, at 6 PM at Murphy Elementary, 3539 W. Grace. Construction on the new library is slated to begin later this year, with completion anticipated by winter of 2018.

St. John’s Episcopal Church, 3857 N. Kostner, is hosting a potluck dinner and discussion for Chicago’s annual On The Table conversations at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, May 16.

The community is invited to attend a public meeting to provide input on the design of new public artwork at the Jefferson Park CTA station on Wednesday, May 31, from 6:00-7:30 PM at the Copernicus Center, 5216 W. Lawrence Avenue.

The Hitch Elementary PTA is hosting their annual fundraiser, The Main Event, at Lido Banquets, 5504 N. Milwaukee, from 6 PM to 11 PM on Friday, March 24.

Learn about different career opportunities at O’Hare International Airport during a Chicago Department of Aviation community career fair. The career fair will be on Thursday, March 23, from 9 am to 1 pm at Wilbur Wright College, 4300 N. Narragansett.
