HA HA! Moore Attempts to Subtly Throw Hat into Ring to Succeed David Orr as Cook County Clerk

After nearly 30 years as Cook County Clerk, former 49th Ward Alderman and Loyola History Professor David Orr who the Chicago Tribune once described as "an independent-minded former history professor with a reputation so squeaky-clean that a cynical colleague calls him 'Mr. Goody Two-Shoes,'" has announced that he will be retiring from public office and not seeking another term in that capacity.

Orr had barely completed his press conference making this announcement when Ald. Joe Moore, who now holds Orr's old City Council seat, said he was "completely open to the possibility" of running for clerk. County Commissioner Jesus "Chuy" Garcia, who lost to Emanuel in a 2015 runoff for mayor, said he was "giving it a look."

Neither Moore or Garcia have any business serving the people of Cook County in the capacity of County Clerk. The only motivation of either of these two is ego and power.

Cook County Clerk David Orr won't seek 8th term
Mayor for one historical week, alderman for a dozen years and Cook County clerk for nearly 30, David Orr is opting to end a career in politics on his own terms. The reform-minded lakefront liberal from Rogers Park announced Wednesday he won't seek an eighth term next year.

"Chuys campaign was similar to Bernie's platform."

Yes, both were totally unrealistic. Both of them made made extreme campaign promises that they had absolutely no chance to fullfill.Totally irresponsible little boys who will never become men because they only want to get themselves elected and say anything popular which they can not possibly deliver the low income masses to garner votes. Moore can't win. His suplicant emails to Rahm will impede it.

By Leigh Kunkel For so many years, we looked across the Atlantic with envy. Not because England was home to both the Beatles and the Spice Girls, or because of Queen Elizabeth's amazing hats, but because of their grocery stores.
