Police: 3 dead, 12 wounded in holiday weekend shootings

A 21-year-old man was driving in the 4300 block of North Kimball in the Irving Park neighborhood about 2:55 a.m. when someone shot him in the clavicle, police said. He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in serious condition.

A 23-year-old man got into an fight with two other males inside a business about 5:15 a.m. in the 6300 block of West Montrose, police said.

Just before 11 p.m., the 25-year-old was sitting in a vehicle parked in the 3700 block of West 75th Place when a gunman walked up and opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

A 24-year-old was in the 4300 block of West West End about 4:35 a.m. when two males walked up to him and opened fire, police said. The man suffered graze wounds to his arm, head and eyebrow. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.

About 4 a.m., a 24-year-old man was shot in the 4600 block of West Jackson, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.

About 45 minutes earlier, a 25-year-old man was shot in the 4600 block of South Honore in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition stabilized.

A 17-year-old boy was outside in the 1200 block of South Independence about 2:35 a.m. when someone in a passing black SUV shot him in the knee, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.

The three were outside in the 3300 block of West Walnut when someone in a passing vehicle opened fire, police said.

The man was on a porch in the 9900 block of South Paxton when two males walked up and opened fire, police said. He suffered a graze wound to his right forearm and refused medical attention at the scene.

15-year-old girl missing from Albany Park

Bethzayda Castillo had a domestic dispute with her mother near Montrose and Monticello about 2:25 a.m., according to a missing person alert from Chicago Police. She may have been drinking before she ran out of the home and said she was going to kill herself.

Irving Park Killing On 'Quiet' Block Likely Drug Related, Police Say

Around 10:50 p.m., officers found the man on the sidewalk in the 4300 block of North Elston Avenue with gunshot wounds in his head and face, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

Employees of Tassili, a Moroccan restaurant at 4342 N. Elston Ave., said the man was shot farther up the block before lunging into their doorway and collapsing.

Irving Park has been rocked in recent months by a series of shootings on high-traffic streets, including the murder of a bouncer at Brudder's Bar & Grill, 3600 N. Pulaski Road.
