11 Wounded In City Shootings Since Friday Evening

The 27-year-old was walking in the 9600 block of South Merrion about 9 p.m. when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot in the foot, police said. He was taken in good condition to South Shore Hospital, police said.

The teen was shot in the leg in the 700 block of East 88th Place at 3:45 a.m., police said, citing preliminary information. He was taken to an unknown hospital, where his condition was stabilized. Further information was not available Sunday morning.

The 27-year-old was shot in the chest at 12:10 a.m. in the 4000 block of North Laporte after he and his friends got into a fight with another group of males, police said. After he was shot, he ran to tell officers, who were in the area because of an event at a nearby theater, police said.

About 11:55 p.m., the 27-year-old was driving north in the 2700 block of South Avers when a male walked up to his vehicle and opened fire, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said.

The males, whose ages were not immediately known, were both shot in the 13200 block of South Vernon, said police said. They were both taken to Christ Medical Center, where their conditions were stabilized, police said.

About 6:20 p.m., the boy was shot in the chest in the 7300 block of South Dante, according to preliminary information from police. He was taken to University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

The men, ages 28 and 48, were both shot about 5:30 p.m. in the 200 block of East 58th Street, police said.
