ComEd explosion startles residents in Near North neighborhood

The incident, which is still under investigation, occurred around 1 a.m. in the 1000 block of North Dearborn Street, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines. No one was injured, he said. 

A man, who lives in a high-rise building on 30 W. Oak St., said he woke up because of the explosion and said he thought it sounded "like a car hitting a brick wall."
