Lost Cat Alert

Please help me find my lost cat. Her name is Leila and is a black short kitty that is 3 years old and weighs about 9 lbs. She needs medication and also doesn't have any teeth so it's imperative I find her quickly! She somehow escaped the pet sitter either when taking out the trash or watering plants and so I'm cutting my vacation short to find her. Please help and let me know of any information.
Offering a cash reward to anyone who finds her!
We live at 873 N Larrabee, just North of Chicago avenue so hopefully she hasn't gone to far. Call 707-318-1911 or 773-495-6868 if you find her or see anything that can help me.

  • AvaBianca West Town/Noble Square resident.

Hello, posting on neighborhood FB pages would help as well. I've actually reunited a few cats to their owners that way. Hoping she gets home back to you soon!

Old Town's historic West Burton Place may soon have an alien intruder

The three-flat at 159 W. Burton Place and its art moderne neighbor

Inside the Carl Street Studios, at 155 W. Burton Place

Old Town's historic West Burton Place may soon have an alien intruder
There's a classic Chicago question looming over a precious block in Old Town these days, and it goes like this: Which will come first, the city landmark status, or the demolition permit? It's an urban development High Noon, with preservationists on one side, a real estate investor on the other, and a big clock ticking.

The next hearing will take place on Tuesday, August 11, at 10 a.m. at the Cook County courthouse, 26th Street and California Avenue, Room 301.

    Streetsblog Chicago
At a hearing on Friday, a judge dismissed reckless homicide charges against Ryne San Hamel, the driver who fatally struck cyclist Bobby Cann while allegedly drunk and speeding. While this decision represents a setback in the case against San Hamel, he is still charged with aggravated DUI resulting in a death, which carries a potentially heavier sentence.

Walton No. 9 Ready For Launch
Well, that was fast. The luxury condominium tower planned for 9 West Walton Street has gone from rumor to building permit in just five months, which must be some kind of record. That's even faster than River Point, which had the personal backing of Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

A fanciful environment at the new State & Chestnut apartments

State & Chestnut apartments, 845 N State St, River North

A fanciful environment at the new State & Chestnut apartments
The lobby at the new State & Chestnut apartment tower preps you for the fanciful environment you're about to enter. The playful, whimsical sensibility continues into the elevator lobby. Step off the elevator on the 7th floor, and the color palette becomes much more subdued, with only a splash of red to hint at what lies beyond.
