4600 block of West Diversey Avenue Fire breaks out in Kelvyn Park strip mall
At about 2:40 a.m., fire officials responded to a fire in a strip mall located in the 4600 block of West Diversey Avenue, said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Quention Curtis. The fire started in the B Fresh clothing store in the mall, Curtis said.

Avondale Homicide In North Avondale
This is the first I'm hearing about this, even though it occurred last Sunday (the 8th). This is the first murder (and hopefully last) in Avondale for 2009. Apparently, a 24-yr-old man was beaten to death in his home on the 3300 block of North Harding. Firefighters were putting out a fire, at about 4:15am in the morning, in a basement of a building on that block when they found the vitcim. He had suffered various injuries from an assault. His death was ruled a Homicide by authorities. Source/Read more. I hope whoever did this is punished for this disgusting crime.
