Kids throwing rocks from Metra tracks

Twice this month we've had an issue of kids throwing rocks at vehicles on the 1400 block of E 62nd St. The first time this happened the seven boys were on the Metra tracks throwing rocks down onto cars parked on 62nd St. The account from my neighbor after yesterday's incident describes three boys throwing rocks from the street level and then running north in the alley and climbing on to the Metra tracks. When my neighbor called Metra police yesterday they told her that their staff was all focused on the NATO summit downtown.

We are asking that Alderman Cochran work with CPD to prevent this dangerous activity from occurring in the future.

Citywide staff pick

From New Bike Racks - where did they come from?:

"Just curious about the new bike racks you see through Lakeview. They are cool colors and in the shape of a bike. I like them and just wondering if they were purchased by the city or some how locally. Any comments would be helpful?"
