Boy, 12, Fatally Shot Overnight
Early Saturday a 23-year-old man identified as Melvin Jacobs was killed in a shooting on a porch in the 11600 block of South Peoria Avenue, according to the Sun-Times. Five others were injured.

In a separate shooting at 8:37 p.m., a 32-year-old man was shot in the hip in the 600 block of East 79th Street, police said. Paramedics took the man in “stable” condition to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center, police said.
