Construction on Pulaski?

Does anyone know about the construction happening on Pulaski form 47th to 69th?

Loading loading

  • Yah, it's awful! Tried to turn onto Pulaski heading South from a side street and noone would let me in (down to one lane)...once on Pulaski,a bus cut me off and blocked the entire intersection of 55th and Pulaski at a red light..how long is this construction supposed to take?!

  • Robert from West Lawn posted this ....

    Arterial Resurfacing.

Resurfacing of south pulaski ave will begin soon. Major traffic delays are to be expected. Its been so long since the last project over 15 years ago. South pulaski from 79th going north is so uneven and has so many pot holes. Its about time.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but an AA in psychology isn't going to help much in the current market -- there are folks out there with PhD's earning 30k or less. Of course, there are also PhD's earning a lot more than that, but the ones I know are corporate psychologists and not working in a therapeutic capacity at all. Have you given any thought about what you want to do with your psych degree? To address your more immediate concerns, what work experience do you have so far? That might be more germane to your immediate job search. What kind of work are you looking to do? How far are you willing to commute? Do you have a car or are you relying on public transportation? The answers to those questions will help in offering you some useful suggestions.
It's still a tough economy out there -- the previous administration left one heckuva mess for President Obama to clean up, and he's been doing a great job but we're not out of the woods yet. Still, it's better than it was in 2009. If you can answer the questions I've posed here, perhaps I can offer some useful ideas for your job search. I also wish you good luck.

  • With an AA in Psychology you can look for positions using people skills. You didn't mention if you're looking for a full-time position or a part-time, in any case, I did see some openings in the neighborhood.

Citywide staff pick

From New Bike Racks - where did they come from?:

"Just curious about the new bike racks you see through Lakeview. They are cool colors and in the shape of a bike. I like them and just wondering if they were purchased by the city or some how locally. Any comments would be helpful?"
