Police: 1 Dead, 23 Wounded Chicago Weekend Shootings

Two males approached a house party in the 4800 block of West Kamerling about 1 a.m. and fired shots into the crowd outside, police said.

    (STMW) - One man was killed and at least 23 other people have been injured in shootings across Chicago since Friday night. The man was killed and four others were injured in a shooting early Sunday in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side, police said.

Man killed, 12 hurt in shootings

The woman was outside in the 5200 block of South Calumet Avenue when she heard gunshots and noticed a cut behind her ear, Gaines said.

The woman was driving a car in the 5200 block of West Adams Street when she heard gunshots and realized she was struck in the neck, Gaines said.

The woman was shot in the abdomen in the 5000 block of North Kenmore Avenue.

Around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, a man in his 20s was shot in the shoulder and chest while he was outside in the 7700 block of South Chappel Avenue in the South Shore neighborhood, police said.

The man was in the 8800 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue when he was shot.

Earlier, an 18-year-old man was shot in the hand in the 400 block of North Lawler Avenue about 3:07 p.m., police said. 

    Shootings leave at least 4 hurt
    At least four people were wounded in separate shootings Saturday afternoon and evening across the city, police said. Most recently, a 48-year-old woman walked into Weiss Memorial Hospital after getting shot around 9:30 p.m. in the Uptown neighborhood on the North Side, said Chicago Police Department spokesman Ron Gaines.

• About 1 a.m. Wednesday, a 35-year-old man was shot several times in West Garfield Park, Estrada said. The victim had been standing with another man in the 100 block of South Kostner Avenue, when a gunman walked up and shot him.

• In Englewood, a 28-year-old man was shot in his left foot during a drive-by attack Tuesday night, Estrada said. The man had been walking along the 5800 block of South Morgan Street about 10:05 p.m. when someone inside a black sedan fired several shots.

• A couple minutes earlier, a 36-year-old man was shot in his right arm in South Chicago, Estrada said. The victim was walking down the 8700 block of South Escanaba Avenue when a gunman approached and opened fire. The man was treated at Advocate Trinity Hospital.

• A 20-year-old man was shot multiple times in Rogers Park about 8:05 p.m. Tuesday, Estrada said. The man, who cops said has gang affiliations, was walking in the 7200 block of North Sheridan Road when two people shot at him.

• A teenage boy was shot in West Englewood Tuesday when several men stole his bicycle, Estrada said. The 16-year-old had been riding along the 1800 block of West 71st Street about 7:53 p.m. when the group approached and demanded his bike.
