4 hurt in city shootings

About 2:10 a.m. in the South Chicago neighborhood, a 23-year-old man was shot in the side of the head at the intersection of East 87th Street and South Escanaba Avenue, police said.

Earlier this morning in the Fifth City neighborhood, 19-year-old woman was shot in the leg about 12:40 a.m. in the 300 block of South Christiana Avenue, police said.

Monday night in the Cragin neighborhood, a 21-year-old man was shot about 8:50 p.m. in the 2400 block of North Lamon Avenue, police said. The man was shot in the buttocks and the thigh, police said.

The first shooting happened at 4:10 p.m. on the 600 block of East 133rd Street in the Golden Gate neighborhood, police said.

A crime scene investigator photographs a gun left at the scene of a double shooting on the 5000 block of West Wrightwood Avenue.

Earlier in the day, an 18-year-old man died after being shot in the 6100 block of South Carpenter Street in the Englewood neighborhood, according to police.

An 8-year-old boy suffered a graze wound to his face in the 7700 block of South Loomis Street in the Gresham neighborhood around 8:42 p.m., police said.

A 17-year-old boy was shot in the leg in the 6700 block of South State Street around 11:45 p.m., Alfaro said.

A 37-year-old man and a 33-year-old man were shot in their legs in the 7000 block of South Bishop Street in the Englewood neighborhood at 9:20 p.m., Alfaro said.

Earlier, the 15-year-old and a 19-year-old man were shot as they drove in the area of Bryn Mawr Avenue and Pulaski Road in the North Park area about 1:37 p.m., said Sweeney.
